Our School
McKinley Charter School, established in 1996 by the Eau Claire School District, serves students in grades 6 through 12. As an alternative school, McKinley focuses on personalized education, offering a supportive environment tailored to each student's learning style and goals. The school maintains a student-teacher ratio that allows for individualized attention, fostering strong relationships between staff and students.
Beyond academics, McKinley emphasizes community involvement and personal development. The school offers services such as mentoring, counseling for alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse, mental health support, and career planning. These programs aim to equip students with the skills necessary for success after high school. The governing board meets monthly to evaluate programs and ensure policies meet desired outcomes, reflecting the school's commitment to continuous improvement.
